Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Colorado My son is 18 yrs. He has had three tickets in the past two years, one for improper turn, two for reckless driving. One of the reckless driving tickets was reduced and the other was deferred with the condition of any other tickets in two years would result in 10 days in jail. He got a speeding ticket this past weekend and the policeman (small town) pulled a gun and arrested him without asking any questions. He had his friend who was with him, look through the glove box for registration and insurance and since it wasn't found sited him for that as well. Is this unwarranted behavior on the policeman's part for this type of violation? His bond was $1000. AnswerHe is allowed to arrest if he knows of the ten days in jail order---How to thank TFD for its existence?
