Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Pennsylvania My son is 18 years old and lives on campus at West Chester University. His room was searched by the West Chester University Police, with his permission. He had several empty bottles of liquor in is cabinet. He was not intoxicated and there was no liquor in the bottles. The police gave him a citation indicating that he had possession of alcohol and indicated if he is found guilty he will lose his license for 90 days. Is there any grounds to fight this since no alcohol was in the bottles? AnswerYes--many grounds. Empty bottles are not the same as alcohol and are not illegal...How to thank TFD for its existence?
