Arrested for trying to cash stolen check

Question

Country: United States of America
State: California

I was arrested on 11/21/05 for trying to cash a stolen check at a bank (Washington Mutual). I have never been in any kind of trouble in the past. On the 4th day I was suppose to go to court, but I was released and was told the DA dropped the charges. I never even spoke to my court appointed lawyer. Later on that night I was released from jail without any further instructions. I didn't receive any paperwork. I was told that the DA has up to ONE (1) year to file, then I just signed my self and my property out and was let out of jail. To this day I still have not received anything by mail or phone. I am at a lost. -- My question is... How can I find out if my charges was dropped to a misdemeanor or dropped all together? Is this something that will show up if I applied for another job, or credit report?

Answer

You may call the DA and they will inform you...
