Question

Country: United States of America
State: Maryland

My boyfriend is on probation for a robbery charge that he got when he was 18. He had not been arrested before then and had not been in any trouble at all until last night when he got arrested again. I am not sure what the charges are yet because they will not release that information to me. However, I was told by someone else that knows what happened that the charge may be robbery again. I know that his bail is $25,000. He is being held in the Jail in Eastover which is a part of Maryland. The first charge was in Maryland too. Can you give me an idea of what kind of time he may be facing or also what is the general punishment for such crimes. I know that he has been on probation for about 1 1/2 or 2 years now and had I think 2 more years to go. I know you cannot be exact in your answer so please give me the worst and best case scenarios or something that may come in between if possible.

Answer

If it is robbery again he likely could get some time--it could be a year or so--but make sure you consult with counsel on the details...
