Byline: ANI Washington, August 7 (ANI): Soon, a new experiment will aim to create a 'fingerprint' of the inside of the atomic nucleus to understand the structure of all matter in the Universe, including human beings and the stars.
Their studies showed the hard core of a proton, a fundamental particle of the atomic nucleus and a building block for all matter, shrinks at high energies.
The story, which has fascinated the author since boyhood, begins with the 1909 discovery of the atomic nucleus, sometimes compared in its relation to the atom to a fly in a cathedral.
