Country: United States of America State: Utah Say you’re at a red light in a left hand turning lane and the light turns green so you let up slightly on the break antedating moving forward and the vehicle slightly nudges the car in front of it. The driver in the car in front looks up at the review mirror and then gives a wave like ""it's ok don't worry about it"" and then continues driving, never stopping or getting out of the vehicle, so the driver that had initially ""bumped"" the car continues on as well. But then a week later receives a letter from another insurance company saying ""Our investigation indicates that you were responsible for the above accident in which our policyholder suffered damages. Please fill out the name of your insurance information so we may handle this matter directly"" Seeing how neither vehicles were not going fast enough to cause any damage to each other let alone injure anyone in the car what is the best way to resolve a situation like this and legally what could happened to the driver responsible?

Contact the insurer and tell them what you have said here; you may even suggest that any claim being made is not being made in good faith.i.e. it is fraudulent and you will treat it as such…
