That finding makes sense because earlier work showed that B cells give rise to plasma cells during normal blood development, says Matsui. In this paper, we demonstrate that Xcyte's Xcellerate Process restores the ability of T cells to interact with the malignant B cells and to eliminate them by inducing programmed cell death, or apoptosis. That done, the cells then differentiated into both red blood cells and white blood cells called B cells, which play an indispensable role in the immune system. |
