Question

Country: United States of America State: Oklahoma While having a background check required by my college so I could attend hospital clinical rotation that I need to complete my degree, they found a 14 year old charge by an old employer of mine for embezzlement. Court records show charges still pending. An arrest warrant was never issued and I never received anything from the court about this. I had no idea this had ever happened and the charges were false. Company is no longer in business. An attorney I contacted said I would have to make them arrest me so I would be in the system to try and get this withdrawn or dismissed. Is this correct? I have to get this resolved to continue with school as several hospitals won't let me do rotation there with this pending.

Answer

You need not try to get arrested. You or counsel may contact the DA involved and work to resolve or dismiss the issue.
