The mechanism unfolds so quickly that the pollen experiences 800 times the gravitational force that an astronaut does blasting off in the space shuttle. Blasting off on May 6, 2004, Space Day is designed to use space-related activities, such as building models of Mars Rovers and meeting NASA astronauts, to motivate teens to go into careers in science, technology, engineering and math. |
