Bulimia was the ancient Greeks' term for ravenous hunger and was derived from the words bous ox and limia -hunger -and so at first glance seems to mean something along the lines of ``starving like an ox'',or perhaps the Greeks used the analogy much in the same way as we might describe ourselves as being so hungry we could ``eat a horse''.
