MMP-21 was expressed in actinic keratosis, Bowen's disease, pyoderma gangrenosum, lichen planus and all keratoacanthomas studied in the keratinocytes of the upper spiny layers of epidermis.
The 49-year-old spotted a dark red mark, which appeared slightly scabbed, on his chest just over a year ago and doctors confirmed it was Bowen's Disease ( a form of cancer which usually stays on the skin's surface.
