Country: United States of America State: All States/Provinces Can we cancel a contract with a lawyer and how is that done? My husband was hurt at work. When he was in the hospital a lawyer came to see him, he basically took some papers out and asked him to sign them, then left. He didn’t explain much. My husband has talked to the company and their insurance company because it is easier to get them on the phone than it is the lawyer.

You can cancel but must ask the attorney to agree, or file a complaint with the Bar.
