We report microbiologic analysis of 786 lymph node biopsy specimens from patients with suspected cat-scratch disease (CSD). Cat-scratch disease is a febrile lymphadenopathy often seen in children following exposure to Bartonella henselae. Cat-scratch disease, hantaviruses, leptospirosis, Lyme disease, salmonella, typhus, and numerous parasitic diseases are amongst the many that can be transferred from wild animals and birds to humans. |
