Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Illinois My friend and were charged with theft under $300. The actual amount was three dollars. In Illinois this is a Class A Misdemeanor. My friend was sentenced to one year of court supervision and all records will be expunged after that one year. I on the other hand was sentenced to one year of REPORT supervision. I thought this was very strange seeing how my friend was the driver and pumped the gas. I just sat in the car. I was wondering if I could get this dropped some how or at least lessened to court supervision like my friend was sentenced to. AnswerYou will have to ask the court to do so at this point--but it can be done yes.How to thank TFD for its existence?
