Children at daughters school starting rumors

Country: United States of America State: Illinois Last year at my daughters school there were children talking about her and another child which was not nice. The principal made the other child leave the school. some parents called the school and said what the children were saying about my daughter rumors. It affected her because they continued. Is there any way I can do something to the school and the parents and children that were starting the rumors. Some children still make fun of her.

You can ask the school board or superintendent to intervene; it is often hard to sue for such things unless you have tried every other possible solution first--
