Founded in 1940, the Consular Law Society is an association of lawyers serving consulates and/or embassies and other attorneys specializing in related international affairs. Its activities include the presentation of awards and the publication of occasional papers. Membership is by invitation. Committees of the society include Diplomatic and Consular Practice; Governments in Exile; Human Rights; Immigration and Nationality; Immunities; International Companies; International and Comparative Law; International Double Taxation; International Copyright Relations; International Law in U.S. Courts; Neutrality; Private Claims Against Governments; Recognition of States; and Treaties.
