Question

Country: United States of America
State: Oregon

I have had a payment arrangement with a collection agency, they recently cashed the check sent to them, then because it had came a few days late, sent me into garnishment. Is that Legal?

Answer

See http://www.worldlawdirect.com/article/935 -- Collecting on a court judgment. If they have a judgment they can take any of these actions--unless you have an agreeement, preferably in writing, that they will not take any other action-
