TORONTO -- Contentions of women's groups over plans to establish traditional Islamic courts in Ontario has caused Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Women's Issues to review processes under the Arbitration Act and other private dispute resolution processes in the province. The Large and Mid-Size Business Division (LMSB) Fast Track Dispute Resolution Pilot Program allows corporations to resolve outstanding issues early in the examination process. Perhaps it's time for first-party direct insurance contracts to include alternative dispute resolution clauses. |
