Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: SwitzerlandState: All States Provinces I am an American who is divorcing a Swiss women now back in Zurich with our daughter. I am trying to find out how much I have to pay for child support in Zurich if my income is $9,000 per month. I am getting the divorce done here in Oregon USA and the courts are ordering me to pay about $1,000 per month but my ex-wife says she wants $2500 per month. I think it should be somewhere in between that because the cost of living in Switzerland is more, I just want to be fair about it. You don't have to be exact but just an idea would be very helpful for me to know who much. AnswerIf the divorce is in the US the US rules will often apply--some costs are higher in Zurich but many costs are also not needed--like cars, etc. and others are cheaper such as health care etc.How to thank TFD for its existence?
