These new drives will be double the capacity (146GB) of the largest 1-inch-high drive on the market today (73GB). In a PC, an IDE disk controller is typically built into the motherboard, and a cable plugs into the controller socket on one end and connects to the drive on the other. These included putting the tape drive on its own SCSI bus--not having to compete with other devices on the bus can help avoid a SCSI logjam. |
