Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: CanadaState: Ontario I am living in a co-op building for the last 4 years. I just found out last Monday that we were approved for our unit in a townhouse near my mother. I notified the co-op of the proposed move and now they are telling me I have to give 65 days notice so I am responsible for the rent of the unit until Feb 28 2006. I don't even have a lease for my unit. Can they do this to me? AnswerNo--if you have no lease you normally may go as you wish, or give a reasonable 30 days notice...How to thank TFD for its existence?
