Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Arizona My boyfriend was arrested on the 13th of December, they are trying to charge him with 3 things, 1st degree murder, aggrivated assult with a deadly weapon, and armed robbery with a deadly weapon. (he has a 1.25 million dollar bond right now) He was scheduled for a court appearance on the 22nd of December, however it was cancelled, i believe due to a lack of evidence. Another court date has not yet been scheduled. How long can they keep him in the jail without officially charging him with something, or at least letting him have his preliminary hearing to find out the evidence they have on him? AnswerCharges have to be filed relatively soon, and should be done already...if they have not been filed let us know; you may call the DA to discuss.Want to thank TFD for its existence?
