Ask a Lawyer Ask a Lawyer
QuestionCountry: Canada State: Alberta This question is not about Family Law (divorce). It is about fraud. I have discovered that my husband began divorce proceedings while on a vacation to Bulgaria this summer. He and his Bulgarian lawyer have been discussing, by e-mail, how to "serve" me without me knowing anything about it. After discussing several alternatives, his lawyer have now applied to the Bulgarian courts to "serve" me at an address in Bulgaria where I have never lived and from which I will never receive any mail. Is this fraudulent?Answer |
