Recently a director at a Detroit hospital said that the idea to put in ldrp rooms (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum in the same room) came from their experience with high risk patients, who couldn't be moved from labor to delivery.
Notable features Include: 30 private medical/surgical bedrooms; eight private and four semi-private gero-psych patient rooms with related activity areas; six private critical-care patient rooms; a Women's Center with four LDRP rooms, six postpartum rooms, an eight-position nursery and a C-section room; two general purpose operating rooms and one orthopedic operating room; an expanded Emergency Department with 13 exam/treatment rooms, including two trauma rooms; seven post-anesthetic care stations; a 12-position ambulatory care unit; and one endoscopy suite, one special procedure room, and one room for pain management procedures.
