Considine, 34, part of a six-man stallion team at Dalham, had his emotions put through the ringer when Dancing Brave, whom he looked after, contracted the rare Marie's Disease, although on that occasion the patient pulled through.
An initial valuation of pounds 14 million evaporated when a near-fatal attack of Marie's Disease and infertility problems meant that `The Brave' was shipped from Newmarket to Japan in 1991.
It was the late Mr Crowhurst [the well-known vet] who probably saved his life by identifying Marie's Disease so quickly.
