Question

Country: United States of America
State: Florida

My 29 year old daughter befriended a neighbor's 14 year old girl. She allowed her to baby-sit her children, took her shopping, etc. When the subject of drugs and sex came up she attempted to refer her back to her mom with no success from the mom. My daughter drove the girl to Planned Parenthood where she got birth control pills (my daughter did not sign anything she was merely transportation). The girl is now saying my daughter allowed her and her 18 year old boy friend to have sex in her house. This is not true but now the police are involved. My daughter has given one statement and has now been told she must come in again. What do you advice? Should she answer their questions or ask if she is being charged and seek an attorney?

Answer

It is normally standard advice to have an attorney at any police questioning...
