PF Washington consultant Jim Wiesemeyer says, "Rising energy prices and pre-election finger-pointing by Democrats that Republicans are to blame will fuel attempts by GOP leaders for new energy legislation this summer.
What is missing, I think, is the promotion by the United Nations of a research and development project to develop and deploy by 2010 a new energy system that can meet the demands and requirements of sustainable development on a global scale.
New energy efficiency and supply technologies offer savings, but experience shows that some may not work as expected, resulting in lost money, operational problems - or worse.
