Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Tennessee My son recently received his Commercial Truckers Diploma; however, in June, 2004 he was stopped by a Ga. police officer for a broken tail light and was fined for having an open container in his car. Breathalizer test done at that time was negative, but was fined for the open container. Now that is on his MVR and he cannot get a trucking job because of it. He did not go to court because he was working and couldn't take off the time so he paid the fine. Can he do anything to get this off his MVR? AnswerYou may as a first step call the clerk of the court that was involved to see if it is possible to have it sealed, expunged, cleared etc. The clerk will normally know, and will often help direct you if it is indeed possible. How to thank TFD for its existence?
