| In France, as in most developed countries, oral contraceptives are the most popular form of reversible contraception; in 2000, 45% of French women aged 18-44 were current users. Harvard researchers published a study in the September 2005 Archives of Neurology suggesting that women who use oral contraceptives are less likely to develop MS. I was taken aback, however, by her decision to prescribe a young woman oral contraceptives, and then tell her that abstinence is really the best option. |
