The results indicated that berberine did affect the N-acetylation of AF in cytosols and intact cells based on the following observations: (i) The amounts of AAF (acetylated AF) in mouse leukemia intact cells and cytosol were decreased and this effect has a dose-dependent manner and (ii) increased incubation times of cells with AF led to increased AAF production in all examined time peroids, berberine did decrease the amounts of AAF production.
