Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Colorado I plead guilty to possession of under 1 oz in Colorado 10 years ago. It is a petty offense there, as I understand it. Everything I can find online says that a petty offense in Colorado is distinct from a misdemeanor. I was asked in an interview if I was ever convicted of a felony or misdemeanor offense and I said no. Now my brother is telling me that I should have said yes because a petty offense is a misdemeanor. Did I lie? AnswerYou may call the DA and ask if the offense was classed in your case as a misd.--they will inform you. If any problem exists, please let us know -- you did not lie if you did not know...How to thank TFD for its existence?
