Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Georgia I live in NC, purchased a car in GA. The car lot from which I purchased the car has file bankruptcy. The finance company of the car that I traded in has not received the pay off from these people. They are telling me that I am still liable for this. What do I need to do to get this resolved? I can't afford to pay for a car that I no longer possess. AnswerBased on what you say here, you could probably file suit gainst both of them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court--and they can fight it out; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...Want to thank TFD for its existence?
