Lawsuits concerning real property, or land. Under the Common Law, one of three categories of forms of actions, the procedures by which a lawsuit was begun. The categories of forms of actions were real actions, for lawsuits for the recovery of land; mixed actions, for lawsuits for the recovery of land and of monetary damages for harm done to it; and personal actions, for lawsuits to recover items of Personal Property or monetary damages. REAL ACTIONS. Those which concern the realty only, being such by which the
demandant claims title to have any lands or tenements, rents, or other
hereditaments, in fee simple, fee tail, or for term of life. 3 Bl. Com. 117.
