Ask a Lawyer QuestionCountry: United States of AmericaState: Indiana We've just received a summons from our home owner's association's attorney seeing us for unpaid dues. We did not receive anything from them as a bill. We have had past issues with mail not coming through and complained to the Post Office. Does this make a difference in how we should handle this situation. We do not dispute that we owe the dues, we just didn't receive a bill. They are now asking for this year's dues, next years dues and $250 in court costs, attorney fees, and other proper relief. AnswerIf you call and pay they normally will drop the suit. How to thank TFD for its existence?
