Question

Country: United States of America
State: New Jersey

This refers to the import of cable making equipment from Singapore, the U.S customs released the equipment after examination and then re-held without delivery of the goods and finally seized. It has been less than a week now and they have not stated any reason yet. Could you please elaborate the legal status of this situation. What is the legal procedure to persuade customs to release the goods?

Answer

They must explain or release the items--normally within two weeks or so.
