The man, who had been operating a motorized pallet jack, had a pre-existing seizure disorder. CNS disorder diagnoses at discharge included meningitis in 61 patients (enteroviral, 21; bacterial, 4; aseptic/indeterminate etiology, 36), encephalitis in 21 patients (HSV, 4; acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, 4; infectious/postinfectious, 13), febrile seizures in 7 patients, and seizure disorder in 29 patients. The most common sequelae to meningitis were seizure disorder in four patients and hearing loss in two. |
