The Arab media discourse was primarily inwardly directed and characterized by self criticism rather than addressing the West. Analysis of the data allowed for the development of a model that was able to show that adolescent females are more vulnerable to symptoms of depression when they perceive low levels of maternal care; experience self criticism, feelings of dependency and feelings of guilt; and have poor attachment to parents or poor attachment to peers. |
