| Operators of C&D landfills have one overriding reason to be interested in shredding incoming material: to extend the limited life of their profitable enterprise. Some 220 auto shredding plants are tearing away at car bodies and other scrap across the country, according to the latest survey of the shredding plant landscape conducted by Recycling Today's staff.
