In the general population the five-year survival rate is 70% if lung cancer is caught at stage I (localized cancer), but only 5% at stage IV (distant metastases). The worst black survival rate was 40% for non-classifiable establishments, the second-largest category of black companies. For example, the survival rate from exposure to the anthrax bacterium is high when antibiotic therapy can be administered before symptoms appear, but after symptoms manifest, the survival rate diminishes significantly. |
