The lucky and totem animals were carved out of bone and stitched into the clothing, pretty shells, mother of pearls, pretty buttons applique work, sequins, different color and material cloth and threads found their way into this wildly creative medium.
I try not to show only the totem animals, but include little critters that are often overlooked to show that they're all expressions of vital ecosystems.
Totem animals were regarded as sacred, spirit helpers, and serving as guardian spirits.
