Highway Code

Highway Code

a publication of the Department for Transport that gives guidance for road users. It does not have the force of law but is a relevant guide in civil and criminal proceedings as to reasonable conduct.

The survey also found that only 43% correctly recognised the Highway Code 'dual carriageway ends' sign, with respondents aged between 17 and 39 being the largest group to answer this incorrectly.

Had the writer read the Highway Code or even studied traffic lights himself, he would have noted that in Bahrain, as in the UK, the lights have a different sequence.
IN the article about the positions of cameras a spokesman for the council makes two comments: 1: "We ask road users to abide by the Highway Code."
