As many as 28 departments of the JPMC, its surgical building, administrative block; doctors and staff colony are spread over 50 acres land while the reaming 20 acres of the hospital land is occupied by the
encroachers. The hospital administration wants its land vacated to expand the healthcare facility to cater the increasing number of patients but it is facing a strong resistance from the
encroachers.
According to an RMC spokesman, the staff on the directives of Rawalpindi's mayor conducted raids in various city areas to remove encroachments under the supervision of area magistrate Ahmed Hassan and MC Chief Officer Khalid Javed Goraya.The teams visited Raja Bazar, Mochi Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Sarafa Bazar, Bara Bazar and the adjoining roads from where they confiscated goods of nearly 45
encroachers while fines were also imposed on the spot on the shopkeepers found indulged in encroachments.
Chandasekharan said the steps being taken by revenue department officials in Munnar were appropriate measures to evict the
encroachers.

A survey of Lyari shows that
encroachers have occupied footpaths around schools and hospitals in residential area by using open space for parking and establish roadside workshops.
Venkataraman had taken a strong position against all
