"They have to change their attitude and the way they dressing and then they can complain if the boys
harass them.
On a recent course a young man told me of his fear of being
harassed because he came across a pounds 50 cheque his friend had stolen from work.
The AAUW reports that male and female students are
harassed in nearly equal numbers.
For example, shouldn't a woman feel she can walk down the street of her neighborhood and not be
harassed?
"If the Christian Coalition and its political cronies thought they could
harass and bully Americans United into dropping our efforts to educate churches about the perils of partisan political activity, they were wrong," the AU director said.
One woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, was
harassed for almost a year by a member of her local's grievance committee.
Students usually
harass other students, but 18% of students were
harassed by school employees.
Last month, the mayor accused the police of using checkpoint operations to
harass his supporters.
Last year in October, the Karachi police chief had warned that strict action will be taken against officers who
harass young couples and ask them for marriage certificates.
"Anyone who would
harass a woman would regret it," one policewoman said.
"Women are also urged to wear decent clothes that are not revealing their bodies as it can lead luring to people with evil minds to
