My discussion of the paradox abbreviates my
essay, "Voegelin's Paradoxes of Consciousness and
Participation," Review of Politics 61 (1999), 117-39. While I have some problems, big and small, with his book, Alterman
does make a strong case that the so-called liberal media (which he
annoyingly abbreviates as SCLM) is not so liberal after all. Unfortunately, when a
TACP abbreviates a nine-line and briefs the first three lines as
"N/A," the GAS platform has no initial point (IP), heading or
distance to reference. |
