The admonition structure may be formulated by two modes of address: positive and asseverative by means of an imperative or jussive, and in a negative formulation by means of the vetitive or prohibitive.
Although the clausal adverb [TEXT NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII] is generally considered asseverative or emphasizing, (9) this interpretation suits only some of the occurrences of this particle.
