17) An inscription from Centum Cellae is probably Christian.
The name Celle is said to derive from the old word Cellae used to describe huts where boats and fishing tools were stored.
Sometimes two, more often three, cellae took the place of a single interior chamber, as it was occasionally the habit of the Etruscans to organize their gods in dyads or triads.
