A picture of then 34-year-old Sarkozy chipping away at the graffiti-marked Wall was posted on his page and he wrote of "the beginning of a period of great freedom in Europe.
9 (ANI): French President Nicolas Sarkozy has revealed how he actively participated in the historic fall of the Berlin Wall, by chipping away at the concrete slabs with a pick axe on November 9, 1989.
He added: "I am starting to sound like a long playing record, but I keep saying to the lads let's keep chipping away at the teams in front of us and that's all we can do at the minute unless we go on an amazing run by putting two or three wins together.
