He spoke at a media briefing on an undercover mission in December to Zimbabwe by members of Civicus, an international alliance of non-governmental organizations.
During a week-long mission to Zimbabwe last month, a Civicus team produced a video with the aim of showing that the country's reality is "much more tragic" than what is reported by the media.
The panel consisted of Kumi Naidoo, honorary president, Civicus, South Africa; Ngozi Okunjo-Iweala, managing director, The World Bank; Angel Gurria, secretary-general, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development; Anthony Akoto-Osei, Ghana's Finance, Economy and Planning Minister; Stefano Manservisi, director general, European Union Development, and Oh Joon, South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister.
