The DeMeyers and their crew, Lynn Price, Dwight Young, Dan Briscoe and Steve Klockow, worked quickly to return to Droescher's aide, dousing the spinnaker and clearing lines so he could be brought to the stern. More than 4,000 firefighters from as far away as Alaska and Alabama - including 600 3rd Brigade combat soldiers from Colorado - worked mostly on the perimeter, clearing lines around the flames to prevent them from moving forward. These workers' sole focus is on clearing lines as quickly as possible to allow our line crews to enter a neighborhood and restore power. |
