He and his colleagues are studying the feasibility of building neutral-molecule decelerators considerably larger than the dinner-plate--size ring of Meijer's group. The most compatible combination of those three muscle groups are the knee flexors and the hip extensors, which means that the biarticulate hamstring muscles would be predicted to decelerate both the swing thigh and leg and therefore are the major decelerators of the foot. |
